Today Ventplac Ltd. is a cargo handling company established in 1995 operating in Free port of Ventspils and specializing in round timber, wood chips, peat and other bulk cargo storage and handling. Thanks to the rapid, efficient and high quality cargo handling today Ventplac Ltd. is one of the leading stevedoring companies of timber handling in Baltic Sea ports.
Taking into account favourable location of the ice-free Ventspils port – the company is a significant link to the logistic chain of Scandinavian pulp producers.
From January 2007 till December 2013 Ventplac Ltd. operated in Noord Natie Ventspils Terminals Ltd. leased territory of 6 ha.
Thanks to the successfully implemented infrastructure development project by Ventspils Free Port Authority co-financed by European Union Cohesion Fund in 2014, Ventplac Ltd. continues its operation in the new Dry Cargo Terminal with the total area of 12,9 ha. Terminal infrastructure includes two 7.2 m (in the near future 7.4m) deep and 130 m long piers, as well as mixed type of surface area of 12.9 hectares with the road and railway sidings.
Dry Cargo Terminal has a capacity of 800 000 tonnes per year and provides services for Minibulker type vessels (up to 10 000 t DW).
